case description
Micros Software is participating in a project to develop a next-generation road toll collection system. This system utilizes location information (GPS) and wide area communication networks to automatically collect tolls by setting toll points on digital maps. This eliminates the need for physical gates, allowing drivers to travel smoothly.
Additionally, the system adjusts toll points and provides detour route guidance in real time based on traffic conditions, helping to control traffic volume and alleviate congestion.
Our company is responsible for developing the in-vehicle unit application that serves as the core of the next-generation road toll collection system.
Specifically, the application analyzes location information from received GPS data and executes toll processing based on the received data via wireless communication. We also design, manufacture, and test software automatic update functions that support stable system operation, as well as various control functions that facilitate the smooth operation of in-vehicle units.
In addition, we are involved in the development of external devices used for in-vehicle unit maintenance and related systems that integrate with the next-generation road toll collection system. In the final stage of development, multiple members of our development team travel to locations both domestically and internationally to conduct tests in environments similar to real-world operations, contributing to the improvement of system quality.
